JELGAVA Open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2018

REGULATIONS

I. OBJECTIVE
To make Brazilian jiu-jitsu martial art more popular.

II. PLACE AND TIME OF COMPETITION 
Mātera iela 44A, Jelgava, Latvia. The competition is held on 9th of june, 2018.
10.00 – 10.30 – introduction of regulations to the participants and referees, discussing regulations;
10.30 – 11.00 – meeting of couches and referees;
11.00 – start of the competition.

III. PARTICIPANTS OF COMPETITION
All who agreed to fight under regulations of International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) –http://ibjjf.com/wp-conte…/…/2015/04/RulesIBJJF_v4_en-US.pdf can participate in the competition.

MEN:
Clothing(No GI) – Board shorts,with no pockets or with pockets entirely stitched shut, and must reach at least halfway down the thigh (no more than 15 cm from the knee). Attached metal or plastic of any kind that may hurt the opponent is expressly forbidden on the board shorts.
Men are permitted the use of pants, shorts or trunks of elastic fabric (clings to body), as long as they are worn under the regulation shorts.
Shirt of elastic fabric (clings to body) at a length that covers the shorts’ waist band.
Athletes must wear undergarments. The use of thong-type undergarments is not permitted; only brief-type undergarments may be worn

WOMEN:
Board shorts or lycra elastic shorts or pants, without pockets or with pockets entirely stitched shut, and must reach at least halfway down the thigh (no more than 15 cm from the knee). Attached metal or plastic of any kind that may hurt the opponent is expressly forbidden on the board shorts.
Shirt of elastic fabric (clings to body) at a length that covers the shorts’ waist band.

In the female divisions is permitted the use of full pants in elastic fabric (clings to body).
The organization and the couch delegating the participant in the competition are responsible for the health and security of participants during the competition.

IV. ORGANISERS OF COMPETITION 
The competition is headed by Jiu Jitsu Team Jelgava (JJTJ)
V. AWARDS
Winners of the competition will be awarded with medals, diplomas and cups.

Categories of participants:
– Kids from 12 till 15 (belts are nor classified by the colour) (30kg, 40kg, 50kg, 50+ kg)
– Youth from 16 till 17 (male,belts are nor classified by the colour) (51.5kg; 56.5kg, 61.5kg; 66.5kg, 71.5kg; 76.5kg; 81.5kg, 86.5kg, 86.5kg +)
– Adults(Male, from 18 years)
– White belts (55,5kg; 61.5kg; 67.5kg; 73.5kg; 79.5kg; 85,5kg; 91,5kg; 97,5kg; 97.5,5kg+)
– Blue belts and higher (55,5kg; 61.5kg; 67.5kg; 73.5kg; 79.5kg; 85,5kg; 91,5kg; 97,5kg; 97.5,5kg+)
-Adults(Female, from 18 years)
-White belts (51.5kg, 56.5kg, 61.5kg, 66.5kg, 71.5kg, 71.5kg+)
-Blue belts and higher (51.5kg, 56.5kg, 61.5kg, 66.5kg, 71.5kg, 71.5kg+)

Participants who had competed in previous championships in blue and higher belt divisions won’t be able to compete in white belt divisions anymore.
Youth and white belts holders fight for 5min., blue and higher- 6min., kids till 15 years – 4min.
The competition is held under single elimination system. If there are less than 4 competitors in the category, then the competition is held under IBJJF elimination system.

VII. REGISTRATION
Pre-registration is held till 4th of june, 2018, registration fee – 10 Euros.
Late registration is held from 5th of june, 2018 till 7th of june 2018, registration fee – 15 Euros.
For kids (till 15 years) registration fee – 5 Euros.
Registration forms of participants and registration fees are not accepted after the registration is suspended. 
Registration on the date of the competition is not allowed.

VIII. TIMETABLE
Timetable with the categories of competitors and times of their tournaments to be announced one day prior the competition. Time of fights is a subject to change according to the pace of prior fights.
